Brockley Nature Reserve (NXGC) This Saturday 10.30pm - 3pm

Posted by Lewisham Gardens on November 6, 2013 at 11:20 AM Comments comments (0)

The next volunteer workday at Brockley Nature Reserve (Also known as New Cross Gate Cutting) is this Saturday the 9th of November and the day runs from 10.30am until 3pm.

On the day we will be continue our Autumn tasks of clearing part of our main meadow (as the main meadow is split into 3 parts and we cut different parts of the meadow each year). This will be cutting back the rough grassland, Rosebay Willow Herb, bramble and small saplings within this part of the meadow. We will also be clearing small areas within the other two meadows as well if we have the time. This will all lead towards our winter tasks which will be felling of small trees along the left side of the main meadow.

If you haven't then before you start to volunteer with the Trust or our little local group, you need to fill out a London Wildlife Trust Volunteer Registration Form. You can email it back to me once it is completed or bring it to me on the day. Also please let me know if you would like to be removed from the email list.

All the best and I will see you on the day
